What do the buttons do? When should I select each?

By reviewing your robot's avoided obstacle areas, you are teaching your robot about your specific home so it can effectively clean your space.

The options impact the robot's future cleaning behaviors differently:

Temporary obstacle here

Select this option to tell the robot that it should try to clean this area again next time. Examples include:

  • Charging cords
  • Headphones
  • Socks and shoes that are not where they are typically stored
  • Solid pet waste

Add Keep Out Zone

Select this option to tell the robot to always avoid this area. Your selection will automatically place a keep out zone on your map in this area. Use this option for items such as:

  • Power Strips
  • Wi-fi routers
  • TV/Entertainment center wires/cords

NOTE: Keep out zones are always editable on your Smart Map after they are placed.

No Obstacle Here

Your robot tries its best, but occasionally it may think certain items or patterns are obstacles when they are safe to clean. Select this option to tell the robot ignore its detections in this area. Use this option for items such as:

  • Cables/wires that are stapled or fixed to the wall or floor
  • Falsely detected shadows or reflections
  • Falsely detected patterns on carpets/floors

NOTE: You may reset your robot's obstacle detection sensitivity settings by going to Robot Settings > Cleaning Preferences > Obstacle Detection. Additionally, you may adjust Obstacle Detection settings per room in the overflow menu on your Smart Map.

I'm not sure

Select this option if it isn't clear what is in the image, or you do not wish to make another selection. The robot will attempt to clean this area again in the future.

NOTE: Robots will periodically receive software updates that expand the obstacle detection list or improve its obstacle detection capabilities.
